Release Updates 1.11.0

Optimizing the Editorial Process and Enhancements to the SmartStash Web Parts

Release Date: August 6, 2024

With this release, usability for editors and admins has been optimized, and SmartStash can now be customized even further to meet individual needs.

New Features and Web Parts

New Columns, Integration with Word

SmartStash documents and articles now include columns for Review Date, Editor, Edit Date, Creation Date, and Creator. The entries in these columns can be displayed in Word documents, since SharePoint system columns are not supported in Word.

Default Navigation When Creating New Stashes

When creating new stashes, site navigation and views are now generated automatically. This helps users find their way around more quickly at the start and makes configuring new stashes less time-consuming.

Search Terms in the Compliance Panel

In the Compliance Panel, you can now define keywords for articles and documents that can be found using the full-text search. This allows you to add additional search terms so that posts can be found more easily.

Custom KQL in MyStash

In the MyStash web part, it is now possible to add filters for items or stashes using KQL. This feature makes it possible, for example, to break down the number of required items for new employees into smaller batches or to place the MyStash web part in multiple locations based on context.

Usability improvements

New Date Picker

The design of the term picker for selecting tags in the Compliance Panel has been optimized. Users can now search for tags and synonyms. Tag trees can now be partially or fully expanded or collapsed. Descriptions and synonyms for the tags are displayed next to the term. Users receive a notification if there are still tags stored that no longer exist.

Accordion Web Part

You can now create multiple entries in the Accordion Web Part. This means you no longer have to add a new Accordion Web Part for each entry. This helps prevent performance issues and search problems caused by having too many Web Parts on a single page.

"Publish Quickly" in the Menu Bar

SmartStash articles and documents can now be published directly or submitted for approval/review using a button in the upper-right corner. Publishing via the Compliance Panel is still possible as usual.

Organizational Chart Web Part

The Organizational Chart web part now displays a “More Information” button if an information page link has been configured in the organizational structure (for example, to link to a department overview page). The tile layout has been optimized when no staff positions are configured.
